The Spink family have been in the Fish Industry for over 30 years. Gordon learnt from a young age, working in his fathers fish house in Arbroath by the Harbour. Here he learnt how to skin, fillet, bone & smoke fish. Gordon then spent 15 years as a North Sea fisherman, operating out of Arbroath Harbour. Not long after he met his now wife, Aileen, and they decided to open their own Seafood business, utilising all the contacts they have made over the many years.
They have been delivering finest quality Seafood throughout Scotland and the borders for over 20 years.

Spinks from Arbroath, is a name now well known and associated with the Seafood Industry, especially Arbroath Smokies. The company is owned and run by Gordon and Aileen Spink. with many years of experience in the fish industry they have built a reputation for quality products and excellent service.

Our History

The family history of the business is what gives them a cutting edge above the competition. They have been in the fish industry for over three generations ranging from supplying to other retailers and to supplying/owning our their own seafood restaurants and delicatessens.
Gordon & Aileen Spink are the proud owners of the Tailend Restaurant in St Andrews and Dundee (opening soon). With such a passion for Seafood they saw it only fitting to have their own restaurant that they could supply their fresh and seasonal produce to! Their reputation for delicious, fresh seafood as grown over the years into the success they are today. |

In the beginning Gordon & Aileen supplied to their own retail outlet in Arbroath, naturally growing into the wholesale market. They supplied deli's and restaurants throughout Dundee, and have only continued to grow. Currently we supply to over 50 customers all over mainland UK and can deliver all over the country. Most of our customers are located in Scotland, from Aberdeen to the Central Belt. Although we do also so supply customers in the North of England and London. Passion for cooking runs throughout our family. It seemed the next logical step to open our own fish restaurant, as we have access to the best seafood in Scotland. We have built relationships with buyers all over Scotland that source only the best and freshest seafood for us at the markets.
In 2009, we opened our St Andrews Tailend Restaurant and we haven't looked back since. The restaurant has been a roaring success and still continues to grow into something we are immensely proud of. The menu changes with the seasons, using produce that is available at the particular time of year. We have created a Seafood and Gin pairing menu and built friendships with local suppliers of the area. Owning our own restaurants allows us to put our two passions together and created something we believe is really special and a complete joy to build.
